The Magic Flute

Encore of First Live in HD Broadcast

Celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Metropolitan Opera’s Peabody and Emmy Award-winning series The Met: Live in HD. An encore performance of the first ever Live in HD broadcast, Mozart’s The Magic Flute, will be presented in cinemas nationwide on Saturday, December 12 at 12:55 p.m. in all time zones and again on Wednesday, December 16 at 6:30 p.m. in all time zones. The groundbreaking broadcast that launched the Met’s award-winning Live in HD series to movie theaters in 2006, The Magic Flute enchanted opera lovers from around the world with the whimsical humor and breathtaking puppetry of Julie Taymor’s hit production, presented in a shortened English-language version. Under the baton of Maestro James Levine, a winning ensemble cast – including Nathan Gunn, Ying Huang, Matthew Polenzani, Erika Miklósa, and René Pape – brings fresh life to Mozart's timeless fairy tale.
