Fathom Events, BY Experience and National Theatre Live have a full line-up of Shakespearean classics set for U.S. cinema audiences in early 2018. The slate of top London stage productions begins with Hamlet, the fastest-selling show in London theatre history -- and most-watched NT Live broadcast – on March 8. Then, on March 22, Tony Award winning director Nicholas Hytner’s Bridge Theatre production of Julius Caesar follows. The collection finishes with Rory Kinnear’s return to the National Theatre stage as the title role in Macbeth on May 17.

Hamlet 2018 Encore

As a country arms itself for war, a family tears itself apart. Forced to avenge his father’s death but paralyzed by the task ahead, Hamlet rages against the impossibility of his predicament, threatening both his sanity and the security of the state.

In the ruined aftermath of a bloody civil war and fighting to survive, the Macbeths are propelled toward the crown by forces of elemental darkness. Directed by Rufus Norris (The Threepenny Opera, London Road), this production of Macbeth will be captured live one week before its cinema debut.
