The Metropolitan Opera's Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series of live performance transmissions returns to cinemas across the United States this fall. The eighth season of The Met: Live in HD begins with Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin on Saturday, October 5 and will feature 10 live and 10 encore presentations through May 2014.

Tulsa World - It’s been seven years since the Metropolitan Opera Company first began broadcasting live matinee performances of its opera productions to movie theaters around the world.
“The Met: Live in HD” proved to be an immediate success, giving opera fans the chance to experience the Met’s lavish productions and hear some of the opera world’s most acclaimed performers without having to travel to New York City.
