Gounod’s ultra-sensual interpretation of Shakespeare is an ideal vehicle for star soprano Anna Netrebko, who brings her incandescent appeal to the role of Juliette, opposite the passionate Roméo of tenor Roberto Alagna. The legendary Plácido Domingo presides on the podium.
